Blogging from the PASS Keynote, Day 1 - SQL Sentry

Blogging from the PASS Keynote, Day 2

It's Kilt Day at PASS Summit.

Adam Jorgensen opens up the keynote with a recap of PASS activities and budget. Summit attendees have doubled since 2007, there have now been a total of 27 "24 Hours of Pass" events (12 of those not in English), and SQL Saturdays have gone from 5 events in 2008 to 99 total events in 2015 (46 of those outside of North America). PASS has 150K members from 163 countries. 78 cents of every dollar goes back into community.

Denise McInerney is up next, and thanks Bill Graziano for his commitment and enthusiasm. Bill comes on stage (nice kilt!) to accept an award for his contributions. She tells us there were 71 people awarded as outstanding volunteers, and that the PASSion award winner this year is Lance Harra. (I was kind of surprised they didn't list the 10 nominees.)

PASS Summit 2016 will be held October 25-28, back in Seattle again. Early bird pricing is already available.

Next up, Dr. David DeWitt and Rimma Nehme, with "Data Management for the Internet of Things (IoT)." I'd like to think I'll be able to keep up with this, but I'm going to sit back and listen instead.

Seriously, just watch it.
