Live and In-Person: SQL Sentry Events in September

SQLGulf, Dubai, Sep 5

SQLGulf, Dubai

Dubai is one of the most accessible and glitzy locations in the modern world. It is also home to this year's SQLGulf #2, the Arab world's biggest conference dedicated to SQL Server. Wouldn't you like to attend a top-quality SQL Server conference there? And thanks to a personal invitation from Shehap Al-Nagar, the organizer, I will be there! If the PASS Summit 2015 in North America or SQLBits in the UK events are a stretch for you, consider coming to the SQLGulf event on September 5th!

This free, full-day of technical learning will add to your SQL Server skills and help establish connections useful throughout your career. Check out the SQL Gulf community site as well as the SQL Gulf registration page!

SQL Saturday Gothenburg Sweden, Sep 5

The Scandic Hotel Opalen is the site for this fall's SQL Saturday Gothenburg. Our very own John Martin (@sqlservermonkey) will be speaking on New Features and Enhancements in SQL Server 2016 AlwaysOn Availability Groups. If you live in the Nordic region, you won't want to miss this high-quality event. Register HERE!

Dev Connections, Las Vegas, Sep 14-17

Dev Connections

I intended to refrain from traveling for the rest of September. But I was obliged to lend a hand to speak when prompted by my good buddy Tim Ford (b | t). So not only do I have a couple sessions to deliver, I'm also doing the final endcap presentation! That's probably not the right term.

One of the things that's great about Dev Connections is that it's format is set up for the more generalist IT professional. There are entire tracks devoted to Cloud technology, Enterprise Management and Mobility, Data and Databases, Development, and Enterprise Collaboration. If you're primarily working on dev, web, SharePoint, or other such technologies but also have some data and database work, this is a good event for you. If you haven't yet registered, use this special registration code (SPKRSOC15) to get $400 off when you sign up! REGISTER NOW!

Cincinnati Azure User Group Meeting, Cincinnati OH, Sep 23

Our resident Azure expert and Microsoft MVP, Mike Wood (b | t), will be speaking at the Microsoft offices on Lake Forest Drive in the Blue Ash suburbs. The topic is An Introduction to Azure Service Fabric starting at 6:00 PM. Register in advance and get more details HERE.

SQL Saturday Holland, Utrecht Netherlands, Sep 26

The University of Utrecht is the site of Holland's SQL Saturday. It's always a pleasure to hang out with the very active and smart community of SQL Server users in the Netherlands and this year we'll have Aaron Bertrand and John Martin on hand to present. Aaron is presenting T-SQL: Bad Habits & Best Practices. And John will be speaking on Monitoring SQL Server, Key performance metrics and how to interpret them. The roster of speakers is great! Register HERE!

SQL Server Days, Antwerp, Sep 28-29

SQL Server Days

Held in the lovely city of Antwerp, Belgium, the SQL Server Days events is one of my favorites in northern Europe. This year, Aaron Bertrand is carrying the flag for SQL Sentry, presenting not only sessions on the main day of the event, but also a full-day pre-conference workshop entitled 50 Things All SQL Server Developers Need to Know. (Aaron will also be giving a preview of this full-day seminar during the 24 Hours of PASS – Summit Preview event on September 17th.)

Don't just sit behind your desk all day. Get active in the wonderful SQL Server family. Come join us!

Hope to see you at one of these events soon,
-Kev
