SentryOne Team Blog (blogs.sentryone.com)

You can tell a lot about a person…

With the very active SQL Server community, there are many opportunities to get to know some of the best people both on a professional level, but more importantly, on a personal level. 10 years ago when I first started at SQL Sentry, I had the awesome opportunity to start attending events like PASS Summit, SQL Bits, SQL Saturdays and other SQL Server User Group events. Through these events you get to see certain people on a regular basis and get to spend social time with them after all the official sessions are completed for the day. Through this experience I have had the pleasure to meet people like Aaron Bertrand, Kevin Kline, Lori Edwards, Richard Douglas, and John Martin. All true and accomplished professionals that I am fortunate to now count as colleagues at SQL Sentry.

Allen White

Starting today, I have the pleasure of adding a new name to that list: Allen White. Allen will be joining the SQL Sentry team as Business Development Manager. His focus will be to help direct the growth efforts of our Strategic Partners program and Professional Services offerings. Having had the pleasure to know Allen for many years now, I have seen first-hand how he has pushed himself to become a valued member of the SQL Server community though presenting countless sessions, becoming a SQL Server MVP, helping build a local SQL Server Users Group, and building lasting relationships with other professionals.

We have worked closely with the entire team at UpSearch to supplement their managed services offering with SQL Sentry monitoring and performance tuning functionality. Who better to build a network of relationships and partnerships for SQL Sentry with other SQL Server professionals and consultancies, than someone who has been doing exactly that for the last 5 1/2 years?

I have known Allen for many years, but when I read the Goodbye Allen White blog post by Shawn Upchurch, I got a much more vivid sense of who Allen is and what he has meant to the team he helped build at UpSearch. As the old saying goes, "You can judge a person by the company he keeps." With the heart-felt comments being made by his teammates at UpSearch as they wish him luck in his new endeavor, I am all the more convinced that Allen will be a great addition to the SQL Sentry family, and we are fortunate to have him. Welcome Allen, we are happy to have you onboard!
